License Terms
Last updated: May 22, 2026
License terms for LocalPrivate Tools, including closed-source rights, one-time purchase scope, device limits, offline use, and restrictions.
License grant
Subject to payment, these License Terms, and the Terms of Service, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the purchased LocalPrivate Tools product for your own personal or internal business work.
A license is not a sale of source code, intellectual property, trademarks, models, rule libraries, or service infrastructure.
Closed-source product
LocalPrivate Tools is a closed-source commercial product. The website source, App source, core packages, PII rule library, document processing logic, local AI orchestration, license signing, device management, payment webhook, free quota, and anti-abuse implementation are not public deliverables.
Purchase scope
A one-time purchase unlocks the purchased SKU for the covered major version, subject to license status, device limits, and product support boundaries. Future major upgrades, new products, or separate enterprise offerings may require a separate purchase or upgrade fee.
SKUs
- Local PII Redactor unlocks paid PII detection, review, redaction, reporting, PDF/DOCX text detection where supported, custom rule templates, and batch workflows for that product.
- Local Data Workbench unlocks paid large-file import, DuckDB-Wasm queries, transformations, charts, and exports for that product.
- PrivateDocs AI unlocks paid document parsing, local search, local AI workflows where supported, citations, and review reports for that product.
- LocalPrivate Tools Suite unlocks paid access to all three products under one suite license.
Device limits
- Single-product licenses allow up to 3 active devices by default.
- Suite licenses allow up to 5 active devices by default.
- A device is identified by an installation id generated for a browser profile or device environment, not by invasive hardware fingerprinting.
- You may self-manage and remove old devices through the account center when that feature is available.
Offline use and license sync
The App can verify a signed license locally and may continue to work offline after activation. When the App reconnects, it may sync license status, device status, refund status, revocation status, and upgrade entitlements.
Refunded, revoked, fraudulent, expired, or invalid licenses may be disabled after sync.
Restrictions
- Do not share, publish, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or transfer your license except where we expressly allow it.
- Do not bypass license checks, free limits, device limits, refund revocation, or abuse-prevention controls.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, extract, copy, or recreate protected product logic except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right.
- Do not use LocalPrivate Tools to provide a hosted file-processing service to third parties without written permission.
- Do not remove proprietary notices, tamper with signatures, or misrepresent license status.
Browser and system requirements
Formal support targets the latest desktop versions of Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Heavy workflows may require modern browser capabilities, sufficient memory, local storage, worker support, WASM support, and WebGPU for some local AI features.
Third-party components
The product may include or download third-party libraries, WASM components, model files, fonts, and other assets. Third-party license notices must be provided where required. Your use of those components may also be subject to their license terms.
No guarantee of perfect results
PII detection, redaction, OCR, parsing, SQL inference, local search, local AI answers, citations, and generated reports may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular compliance obligation. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs.
Termination
Your license may terminate or be disabled if you violate these License Terms, obtain a refund, initiate fraudulent activity, share a license publicly, bypass technical restrictions, or otherwise create legal or security risk.
